My first time at Art Basel was one for the books. My right hand, Tiff (https://dolcezzasweet.blogspot.com/), and I decided on a whim that we were going to finally stop talking about it and make it happen. And I'm so glad we did. 

It's everything everyone says it is. Immaculate vibes. Inspiration everywhere you look. You can't avoid it. Great networking opportunities. I can't wait to return next year and exhibit my artwork. 

Mark my words.

The Glass Is Already Broken

 "You see this goblet?" asks Achaan Chaa, the Thai meditation master. "For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I drink out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, 'Of course.' When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious."

Curacao was never on my radar before this trip. 

It is now.

Can't wait to return and really delve into the culture the island has to offer.

Healing; A collection of art by Deon Wilkins

I had to make sure I made it out to see my girl Deon's latest art exhibit, 'Healing', before it closed, and I'm so happy I did. The exhibit featured art highlighting strong black figures in different stages/modes of healing, as well as touching tributes to people that had passed in Wilkin's life. We met during a creative consulting gig with a black woman owned and backed brand earlier this year. She is an extremely talented artist and the exhibit really inspired me to start creating using different mediums again.

Musings: 10/16/2022

 if you would've told me at the beginning of the year that I'd make it to Africa before the end of the year I probably wouldn't have believed you

and here I am on my second week in Kenya

life is funny like that

sometimes the plans we have for ourselves aren't big enough

I'm extremely blessed and grateful to be able to have this experience

and I will treasure it forever

I went on safari and had a private lunch while still on the park grounds,

- a herd of zebras less than a mile away.

I took a jet to watamu just to visit the beach and stayed at the most 

beautiful villa I've ever been to in my life.

I partied in nairobi. hard.

I had exhilarating conversations. 

epiphanies.

and made lasting memories that will stay with me until the day I leave this earth.

grateful,

and abundantly blessed.
