Here For A Good Time, Not A Long Time: New York x 3/17/19

I love how easy it is to take a quick trip to New York on a whim. It's become my new favorite playground. There's always something to explore. Hannah and I had a rare Sunday that we (she) were both off and decided to check out the Frida Kahlo exhibit before it left the Brooklyn Museum. Our original plan was to visit the black and white exhibit at Cadillac House but it was closed for the day -- bummer. The weather held it together for us and we were able to have a fun-filled day that consisted of a quick stop by HRY, the Frida exhibit and a delicious bite at cajun restaurant Catfish in Brooklyn. I can't wait for summer.

this life is abundant

I strongly believe that at times we prophesize our own demise through
our words/ thoughts

these things hold power
pay attention to what you're manifesting

Musings: 1/1/2019

today feels
new,
like sparkly clean.
peaceful
relaxing
fresh

filled with faith and determination
and I have no doubt that this will be one of the best years of my life
as cliche as it sounds.
idc

I recognize the power that I possess and plan to grab 2019 by the reigns.

2018 left me feeling...
unfinished

like I had business left to tend to.

it was a year of awakening in many ways

a year that caused me to question if I was happy with the trajectory of my life
if I was walking in my true purpose,
or the shadow of someone else's.
a year filled with so many questions

some of which have yet to be answered

but the best part about continuously asking questions
is that once you know the question
you can seek the answer

if you don't know the problem
how can you solve it?

I brought in the new year in my apartment,
alone,
meditating
on what I want to manifest in the new year
lit a few candles
played my favorite relaxing music in the background
and then went to bed.

nice and low-key

to whoever may see this, I'm wishing you the happiest new year! may peace and prosperity find you.

( SIDE NOTE: I also kicked off Jan 1 by starting a gratitude jar; something that I had been wanting to do for a while now. )

Musings: 12/5/18

you have to practice courage
vulnerability is the best measure of courage

if you could travel through time would you go to the past or future?

"maturity doesn't come with age behind it,
but with the acceptance of responsibility for
our words,
our thoughts,
our motives,
our actions and our attitudes"

your type is harder to find

indifference enables everything that is bad in life

Inspire the TRIBE x Trap Yoga 11/25/18

This weekend consisted of lots of time spent with family, great food (no leftovers over here, but tons of dining out due to not wanting to step foot in a kitchen after the holiday), lots of laughter and a vending opportunity with Trap Yoga that fell into my lap days prior.

I had a great time mingling with the other vendors (@HerSweat - check them out.. love what they're doing), sharing my brand with the participants and taking in the view from the Observation deck (the tallest building in the DMV at 32 floors) where the event was held.

I want to go to Amsterdam

extremely grateful for everyone that takes the time to view my blog,
support my business
and send words of encouragement my way.
I promise it doesn't go unnoticed

I begin my days listening to bob marley in the shower and oprah's super soul conversations on the ride in to work.

guilty of romanticizing people and situations in the past. trying to determine if that's what this is/ was...

need to start keeping track of every show that I've done

be still.

how could something so beautiful die so tragically

the inner work that I'm doing though...

Inspire the TRIBE Upcoming Shows x Fall 2018

Hosted by @CrookOnCanvas

""ARTscape is an outdoor art installation showcasing over 25+ artists from then DMV. Not only do I appreciate their dope work, but I also appreciate their work ethic and character. ARTscape is a way for me to show my appreciation to all of these artists at once, in one location. It will be a place where we are able to come together, admire each other’s craft and introduce the public to “ARTSCAPE." A look into our world so to speak.  ARTSCAPE is a place that gives our community an opportunity to become familiar with local artists and hopefully provide the opportunity to become collectors. Come out and hang with us &and enjoy an assortment of local vendors, dope brands featuring the city’s youngest fashion designers, and great food choices and appetizing cuisines from small vegan dishes to infused desserts!"

Operation Bring the Spa Home - Part One

The latest project that I have taken on in my quest to turn my apartment into my own private oasis is 'Bringing the Spa Home'. The goal is to make it so that I don't have to leave the comfort of my own home when I want to unwind. The addition of a hanging eucalyptus "bouquet" (I found mine at Trader Joe's) in my shower has taken me one step closer to achieving the in home spa feeling that I so crave. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, the scent that is released during a steamy shower is both calming and refreshing, and can help to relieve congestion.
