Musings: 7/18/17

been feeling kind of heavy this week. I need to go back to writing things out  down to get them out of my head. I miss expressing myself through my words. I oftentimes find old poems or notes to myself and rediscoverlearn so much from my past self... knowledge that I didn't even understand the magnitude of at the time... depth that I feel that I've been missing as of late. I want to disconnect in some ways and reconnect with an old friend; the journals, napkins, post -its that tell so much of my life's tale. I want to reignite the spark that I went to school for. to be multi-dimensional. I don't want the discovery of one of my passions to dim the light of another. this feels good. this feels right.

Wow - talk about an insightful, inspiring, rejuvenating trip!

I just returned from a week long stint in LA. At this point LA has become my second home (I'm there often because my boyfriend lives there), but this time was unique because I was able to share my art with a crowd that my shows in DC otherwise wouldn't reach. SPACE LA is a laid-back jam session for creative's to get together, share developing pieces, network and obviously... JAM! The energy in the SPACE was so welcoming and inspiring, and I'm truly grateful to Ms. Jacque Hammond for inviting me to be the highlighted artist for the month of January (way to kick of the new year!).

Musings: 12/9/16

the end of 2016 is steadily approaching and I've never felt more ready for a new year to begin.

unlike many who've complained of 2016 being a horror year for them,

it has treated me extremely well!

I've made a lot of strides as an artist

gained balance in my personal life

taken chances whether they succeeded or not

and learned a ton about myself and others

I have a few art shows locked in for the beginning of the year that I'm currently creating for.

excited to see what's in store

My First Time Trying New Illustrator Software

I tried out a new illustrator for the first time a few days ago, and I'm hooked. It took a little getting used to.. but I think I did pretty good for a beginner. Excited to see where this goes. I love trying new mediums to express my creativity. It's my favorite way to spend my free time.

thank you to everyone that believes in me and my talent.

I hope you enjoy what I have been working so hard on for the past month and a half, and literally dedicated all of my free time to. Creating makes me happy; it gives me something to get lost in and ultimately allows me to feel 'found.' It was a goal of mine to have an art show in 2015 - and after tomorrow I can say I've done just that. It was a goal of mine to have my artwork hanging in someone's home - after tomorrow I can say I've accomplished that too.

With focus, determination, prayer and a positive mindset you can do anything you set out to do. More of a believer with every passing day.
