My Influenster Glam Vox Box #ChooseToSmooth

My #GlamVoxBox has arrived and I'm super excited about it... who doesn't like free stuff? This go 'round I had the opportunity to review a few beauty items including:

Shea Moisture facial wash, anti- aging moisturizer, and anti- aging face mask
Gilette Venus embrace razors and Olay Violet Swirl shaving cream
Q-tip beauty rounds
Not Your Mothers Clean Freak Dry Shampoo
and Cutex nail polish remover pads

The Shea moisture products were great. I was already familiar with their hair products, but always overlooked the skin care line. No more. The products left my face glowing and super soft. My favorite was the mask.
I've used Gilette products before, but I did appreciate the extra padding around the Embrace Sensitive razors paired with the Olay Violet Swirl shaving cream. My underarms felt like a baby's bottom, and the shaving cream, although it feels weird to say, smelt really good. #Choosetosmooth
The Q-tip beauty rounds are my go-to when it comes to removing make-up. Pair these with a few drops of almond oil and you're good to go. I also prefer these over cotton balls because they don't leave any cotton-y residue all over my face when I'm through.
Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo actually really came in handy this week because I randomly straightened my hair for the first time in months. (Thanks Influenster!) Dry shampoo is always great because I loathe flat hair and dry shampoo helps to break up the oil that eventually weighs down our hair after a few days.
I prefer @CutexNails remover pads because they are soaked in the polish remover so I don't have to continue to pour more and more from the bottle to ensure I am able to fully remove all remnants of polish from my nails. #SoCutex #HealthyNails #contest

I received all of these items for free from @Influenster for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Weekend Recap: The Black Love Experience Part Trois

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending The Black Love Experience Part Trois, and it was awesome. The line was wrapped around the block, (which I've never experienced before at one of these events) but the experience was worth the wait; each year it gets better. This year offered more art than years prior from amazingly talented black artists, a breathology station (where I thoroughly enjoyed learning proper breathing techniques), two paint and sip sessions and my personal favorite... a station where you could write a love letter to black people, a lover, or whoever else you choose and have it typed up on an old fashioned typewriter! So classically dope.

Special shout out to Ujaama Box and Charles Jean Pierre!
