Last night I had the pleasure of going to Bus Boys and Poets (14th + V) for a much needed night out, and to enjoy a night of spoken word with friends. The artists left me feeling inspired to finally muster up the courage to read one of my pieces. I'll be combing through my journal to try to pick out the perfect piece for my first time performing.
Any suggestions?
Stay tuned

I'm having difficulty blogging from my work computer lately, and rarely have time by the time I'm finally home, so I apologize for the lack of posts. I just got back from my second stint in Miami. This go around was a lot more relaxed than the first trip. It mostly consisted of Fat Tuesdays cups and frolicking in the ocean.
I wanted to take a moment before posting a string of picture heavy posts to invite everyone out to Tikis 4 Tits, the second annual pool party to support the fight against breast cancer. It will take place on July 27th at the Big Vanilla Athletic Club in Pasedena,Md. Come out and support a good cause! It should be a good time.

So I ventured to DC the other day to try out a new restaurant with a friend, and I must say I'm SO glad I did. The destination of choice was Cuba Libre restaurant and Rum bar. From the food to the decor... the whole evening was a welcome change from the usual. After way too much time skimming the menu the waitress suggested the 'Churrasco a la Cubana', and anyone who goes there I highly recommend it! Best food I've had in years. And don't even get me started on their happy hour. A great night was had by all, and I will definitely be adding this one to my 'going out' list.

Cool Online Find: Black Fantastic
The group formally known as Martin Parks is back with a new calling card, Black Fantastic, and a new sound. The experimental hip-hop soul duo definitely doesn't disappoint. My standout tracks: Word, Storms, Waiting, Black Diamonds, Regrouping (You) and Strength.
Click here to have a listen to the self-titled album, and here to keep up with all things Black Fantastic!
( SIDE NOTE: I'm excited about the next three weeks. So much fun to be had. )
