Happy Father's Day to the Best to Ever Do It!

Love you dad. <3

Musings: 6/18/2023

 finding comfort in vulnerability

truly opening yourself up to feel all of the things

regardless of the outcome

feels like a bit of a superpower

so many people are afraid to peel back that extra layer and truly expose

their heart

I find comfort in knowing that I am capable

and unafraid

we got the chance to be edited onto different album covers.
so much fun.
I will also be wearing this Coyote Ugly inspired top again. I loved it so much.
the ride home consisted of a lot of screamo, alternative hip hop and soul. no real in between.
a time was had.
video screenshots for the win.

What's better than live music? I mean really.

I finallyyyy made my way back to the Roots Picnic this year. Once I saw that Usher was added to the lineup it was a no brainer for me - and he did NOT disappoint. It felt so good to get back into the festival swing with my favorite girl, Tiff (of dolcezzasweet.blogspot.com. ). We saw a State Property Reunion and the Fugees, Usher, Uzi, Ari Lennox, City Girls, Eve, Busta Rhymes, Isley Brothers, Backyard Band, Glorilla, Lucky Daye... the list goes on. It reminded me of 2014 - 2016 summers. And if this past weekend was any indication, this summer feels like it's going to be a good one. I'm ready.

BTS Inspire the TRIBE x Concrete Playground Large Scale Mural

my happy place

BTS of a new parking lot mural that I'm working on.

This mural has been a bit of a challenge because it is a medium and style that I'm not used to, at least of this magnitude (previous mural work here and here). But it's all for a great purpose and I don't shy away from a good challenge.

The parking lot mural will serve as a concrete "playground" for a community center in northern Virginia. It will provide a place for kids in the community to play and hopefully rouse curiosity and bring more foot traffic to the center. It will include hopscotch, four square, a biking course and more. I look forward to the joy that it will bring the community and the reaction of the kids once we're finished.

( SIDE NOTE: I wasn't impressed with this festival(?) so I won't mention it by name, but here's a cute memory from it. )
